Stars Added as Teams Make Knockout Round Roster Amendments at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup

Quarterfinals kick off July 19 in Philadelphia; Tickets on sale at

Miami (Monday, July 17, 2017) – The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) confirmed today the roster amendments made by the Participating Member Associations for the knockout rounds of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. 

In accordance with the Competition Regulations, teams qualified for the quarterfinals of this year's Gold Cup are permitted to amend their 23-player roster following the group stage, by replacing up to six players with new players from the original 40-player provisional rosters announced on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

The following replacements have been submitted by the Participating Member Associations and approved by CONCACAF:

Teams which have advanced from Group C -- El Salvador, Jamaica and Mexico -- may still make modifications throughout the 24-hour period beginning from the conclusion of their final group stage matches on Sunday.

The CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals will feature five of the six CONCACAF nations --- Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and the United States --- currently vying for a berth in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.  

Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field will host the first two quarterfinals on July 19, featuring Group A winner, Costa Rica versus Panama, Group B runner up, and Group B winner, United States against Group C third-place finisher, El Salvador.

University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona will host the other two quarterfinals, which will feature the winner of Group C, Mexico versus Group A third place finisher, Honduras and the second place teams, Canada and Jamaica, in both Group A and C respectively, on July 20.

The winners of the matches in Philadelphia will advance to the first semifinal, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on July 22. The winners of the quarterfinals in Phoenix will move on to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, for a July 23 semifinal date.
