Thanks to a sixth place finish in Concacaf Nations League Qualifying, Guyana will make its Gold Cup debut. Guyana tied Barbados 2-2 in CNLQ week 1, in which Trayon Bobb became the first scorer in the history of the CNL. In week 2, they had an explosive offensive performance, beating Turks and Caicos Islands 8-0 with a hat trick from Sheldon Holder and another from Emery Welshman. The only CNLQ loss was 1-2 versus French Guiana. They sealed their historic qualification defeating Belize 2-1 with goals from Neil Danns and Welshman, who finished as the team’s leading scorer with four goals.
