U.S. plans ambitious 2015 friendly schedule

CARSON, California – Prior to launching the defense of its CONCACAF Gold Cup title next year, the United States will play a minimum of seven friendlies from January into June.

U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati revealed the schedule at a media roundtable on Sunday, following the MLS Cup final at the StubHub Center.

The list of matches consists of five on the road, including one at World Cup champion Germany on June 10.  Home games against CONCACAF rivals Panama (February 8) and Mexico (April 15) are also planned at venues yet to be announced.

The Americans compiled a 6W, 4D, 5L record in 2014 that was highlighted by an appearance in the 2014 FIFA World Cup’s round of 16.

January 28 – away v Chile
February 8 – home v Panama
March 25 – away v Denmark
March 31 – away v Switzerland
April 15 – home v Mexico
June 5 – away v Netherlands
June 10 – away v Germany
