Panama’s Penedo captures Golden Glove award

CHICAGO – Jaime Penedo of Panama was named the winner of the Golden Glove award as the top goalkeeper at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.  He allowed four goals in five appearances, including one in Sunday’s 1-0 loss to the United States in the final.

The 31-year-old, appearing in his fifth Gold Cup, took home the honor for the second time.  He won it previously in 2005, when Panama fell on penalty kicks in the championship match -- also to the U.S. – after a scoreless draw.
