Allstate Save of the Game Justo Lorente … 51’)
The United States needed to beat Nicaragua by three goals on Saturday night if it wanted to leap over Panama and finish first in Group B at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Joe Corona gave the Americans a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute and then Dom Dwyer – after he was fouled in the box – was awarded penalty kick and an opportunity to double the lead in the 51st minute. The Sporting Kansas City star fired off a left-footed attempt low and to his left, but Nicaragua goalkeeper was on it all the way to make the Allstate Save of the Game. Lorente would save another penalty in the 63rd minute, but the U.S. struck for two more goals to claim the top spot in Group B.
