Jamaica names strong roster for friendliesv

KINGSTON,  Jamaica – Jamaica head coach Winfried Schafer will have a mixture of youth and experience to call upon when his side hosts Venezuela and Cuba in international friendlies on March 27 and 30 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

The German, who guided the Reggae Boyz to the Caribbean Cup title in November, will be using the matches as an opportunity to identify players to contest both the Copa America (June 11- July 4, 2015) and the CONCACAF Gold Cup (July 7-26, 2015)

Houston Dynamo midfielder Giles Barnes is to the new squad.  The 26-year-old previously represented England at the under-19 level and has scored 21 goals in 74 regular-season appearances, since signing for the Major League Soccer side in August 2012.

The roster consists of six players from various leagues in England, including midfielder Rodolph Austin, the 2014 Caribbean Cup’s most valuable player.
