SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – In preparation for an international friendly two days later against visiting Venezuela, Honduras head coach Jorge Luis Pinto opened a camp Monday with 22 members of his 23-player roster.

With the exception of Sporting Kansas City’s Jorge Claros, the entire squad gathered at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano, the site of Wednesday’s encounter.  The selection includes defender Johnny Leveron and midfielder Arnold Peralta, who signed recently with domestic sides Marathon and Olimpia, respectively, after spells abroad.

It will be the Catrachos’ first game under the leadership of Pinto as he looks ahead to next month’s two-leg CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification playoff against French Guiana.

The 61-year-old Colombian also convened a three-day camp last week, his first since being named as Hernan Medford’s replacement in December.
