Honduras fights back to earn draw at Paraguay

CIUDAD DEL ESTE, Paraguay Honduras’ preparation for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup got off to a positive start with a comeback 1-1 draw at Paraguay in an international friendly on Wednesday night at the Estadio Antonio Aranda in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.

The hosts came out strong and earned a penalty which was converted by Oscar Cardozo in the 15’.

Honduras kept its composure and started to carve out chances of their own, while also tightening things up in the back.

The Catrachos remained a threat and pulled level 1-1 in the 75’ when a free kick played into the area was thumped in via header by Maynor Figueroa to give Honduras the result.

Honduras will return to action on Sunday with its final Gold Cup tune-up against Brazil.
