DENVER, Colorado – First place in Group A will be on the line on Wednesday night when Mexico and Canada clash on matchday two of the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup at Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
Canada is coming off a confidence-boosting 4-0 win over Martinique in its Gold Cup opener and will be looking to make a stamen against the seven-time Gold Cup champions.
Nineteen-year-old FW Jonathan David showed the poise of a veteran by stroking home two goals against Les Matinino and will be aiming to do similar damage against El Tricolor.
Youth was also served for Mexico in its opening 7-0 win against Cuba, as 21-year-old FW Uriel Antuna scored a hat trick in addition to the brace bagged by FW Raul Jimenez.
Wednesday’s contest marks the fifth Gold Cup meeting between the two teams, with Mexico leading the series 3-1.
