MONTERIA, Colombia – El Salvador international Efrain “Junior” Burgos signed a contract with Jaguares de Cordoba, the Colombian Primera A side announced Thursday.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who made his national team debut last August in a 2-0 win over the Dominican Republic, had spent 2014 with the Atlanta Silverbacks of the North American Soccer League.
Burgos was a member of the Salvadoran squad that earned a place in this year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup with a fourth-place finish in the 2014 Central American Cup, appearing in two of the Cuscatlecos’ four outings.
In 2012, he played briefly with Major League Soccer’s Toronto FC.
