Blackburn propels Panama to 1-0 victory
PENONOME, Panama - Rolando Blackburn scored in the first half and Panama defeated local club San Francisco 1-0 in a friendly on Saturday at the Penonome Project Goal.

The encounter was the first of five preparation matches scheduled for the Canaleros prior to the 2013 UNCAF Copa Centroamericana, which will be held in Costa Rica, January 18-27.

"We will not talk about the football aspect because we are still in preseason," said head coach Julio Dely Valdes. "This game is good because we got to watch the players on the field after three weeks of preparation."

A right-sided cross was powerfully headed home in the 21st minute by Blackburn, who plays with FK Senica in Slovakia, for the game's only goal.

Panama, which has advanced to the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, was drawn into Group B in the Copa Centroamericana and will face El Salvador (January 20) and Honduras (January 22).
