The 2009 Gold Cup had the distinction of being one of the first events in the new $1 billion-plus stadium just outside Dallas. The home of the Dallas Cowboys for the past two the National Football League seasons, the building seats approximately 80,000, but can be expanded to 100,000 for major events. Among the stadium's key features are a retractable roof that opens/closes in 12 minutes, distinct arches spanning the length of the stadium and open-air end zone plazas that will give the stadium an outdoor feel. Its signature feature, though, is a video board that is 55 meters (180 feet) long and 15 meters (50 feet) high, making it the largest of its kind in the world. The 2009 Gold Cup quarterfinals featuring Mexico-Haiti and Guadeloupe-Costa Rica drew a crowd of 85,000.
