The Gold Cup will have the distinction of being one of the first events in the new $1 billion-plus stadium just outside Dallas.Slated to open in June, the new home of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League will seat approximately 80,000, but can be expanded to 100,000 for major events. Among the stadium's key features are a retractable roof that opens/closes in 12 minutes, distinct arches spanning the length of the stadium and open-air end zone plazas that will give the stadium an outdoor feel. Its signature feature, though, will be a video board that is 55 meters (180 feet) long and 15 meters (50 feet) high, making it the largest of its kind in the world. The 2009 tournament marks the return of the confederation's marquee to Dallas for only the second time and first since 1993.
