Cuba is back after withdrawing in 2009. It qualified to the 2011 tournament by finishing third in the 2010 Carribean Cup. Cuba, known mostly for its success in baseball, has participated five previous tournaments, reaching the quarterfinals in 2003 before losing to the United States 5-0. Cuba lost only one game in eight in the Caribbean Cup, the qualifying event for the Gold Cup, a 2-1 loss to Guadeloupe in the semifinals. It five of those games, it didn't allow a goal.
