Winner: Mexico

Runner-up: Brazil

Golden Ball (best player): Raul Rodrigo Lara (MEX)

Golden Boot (leading scorer): Eric Wynalda (USA)

Venues: Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Diego

Final: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum

Mexico won its second consecutive title, overcoming invited guest Brazil 2-0 in the final before more than 88,000 at a rain-drenched Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. El Tri won all four of its games, outscoring its opponents 9-0. Not as spectacular as the 1993 team, Mexico beat St. Vincent & the Grenadines 5-0 in the opener but did not register more than two goals in any other match. Narrow victories over Guatemala in both group play (1-0) and the semifinals (1-0), set the stage for the historic championship win over Brazil. The USA easily outdistanced Guatemala 3-0 to finish third.
